Custom Homes Building and Remodeling

South Florida Construction During COVID-19

Under Gov. DeSantis’ Stay-At-Home order, the list of essential workers includes: ”Workers supporting the construction of housing, including those supporting government functions related to the building and development process, such as inspections, permitting and plan review services that can be modified to protect the public health, but fundamentally should continue and serve the construction of housing (e.g., allow qualified private third-party inspections in case of government shutdown).”

Being essential workers during this time, we are still able to complete all your South Florida building and remodeling needs without much interruption.  We have been able to submit permits and get inspections in a timely manner.  Where you may see some delays is in the design portion of your project.  Not all stores have remained open or are only allowing limited access.  This may make it difficult to select some of your finishes.  However, if you know the look you desire, there are still plenty of options, including online.  While some shipping is taking longer than usual, we have not seen any significant delays. We are ready and willing to point you in the right direction for all your design needs.

If you are still hesitant to proceed with a project at this time, let us assure you that workers are taking extra precautions as well.  Gloves and facial coverings are common practice due to the nature of the work we do.  We take pride in keeping a clean work space.  This means at the end of each day, tools and materials are put away, the area is swept, and any debris is removed from the property. Our workers also guarantee they will not work if they feel under the weather and ensure if they have a temperature above 99, they will not come into work until the fever has been gone 24 hours.  If this becomes the case at any time, we will be open with communication in case there is a needed change to your completion timeline.  In most situations, we will be able to have another worker complete the project so there will not be a delay.

At this time, we do feel comfortable meeting face to face to walk through and discuss your project.  However, if you do not feel the same, we are happy to do a zoom meeting or facetime call.   If you are not currently living in the home, we can make this a contact-less process.  If you are, and plan to remain in the home throughout your project, we will make sure contact with our workers is minimized and all safety procedures are followed.  As always, we are committed to making sure we deliver a quality job in a timely manner.
